These whips can be made to order. Generally they are 4 or 6 feet long but that can be customized to suit your needs.
Typically I'll use 2 colours and most of the time one of those is black. You can choose any colour combination you like with a maximum of 8 colours total. But I think 4 is probably the most you would want without making it look like a technicolor tragedy.
My most common design uses a 1/2 checkerboard design for the initial handle portion and then transitions to a herringbone pattern for the rest of the body of the whip.
